Southern Botanical Receives NALP Decade Award from for 10 Years of Excellent Service at George W. Bush Presidential Center

(Dallas, Texas, September 17, 2024) – Southern Botanical is proud to announce that it has been awarded the Decade Award of Excellence by the National Association of Landscape Professionals (NALP).

Southern Botanical originally received the Gold Award of Excellence from the NALP in 2014 for its innovative work on the 15-acre grounds of the George W. Bush Presidential Center. This project involved transforming decades of urban development into a flourishing, self-sustaining landscape filled with native Texas plant life.

This expansive project was designed to minimize long-term irrigation needs by using drought-tolerant plants and trees carefully selected by the design team. In addition, the park was graded to facilitate rainwater drainage to the south, allowing water to be filtered and purified naturally through the soil. The landscape not only supports local ecology but also reflects President George W. Bush and Mrs. Bush’s love of the Texas environment and their ongoing commitment to sustainability.

For over 10 years following the installation, Southern Botanical has proudly maintained this remarkable property, ensuring the long-term health and vitality of its landscape. The Decade Award celebrates the company’s dedication to excellence in landscape maintenance and its unwavering commitment to sustainable practices.

Each year, the National Association of Landscape Professionals Awards of Excellence highlights exceptional projects in commercial and residential landscaping across the U.S. In 2024, 246 awards were presented to companies for their outstanding work in the industry, of which only 3 were Decade Awards.

The National Association of Landscape Professionals’ Decade Award is one of the highest honors in the landscape industry, recognizing companies that have achieved excellence in maintaining a property for a minimum of 10 years following winning a Gold Award win. It is awarded to only a few select companies nationwide, underscoring the outstanding long-term quality of work.
