Southern Botanical Responds to Storm Damage in North Texas

A destructive thunderstorm swept through North Texas early on Tuesday, May 28th. Many residents woke up to the sound of crashing trees and flickering electricity. Winds reached up to 95 mph, downing power lines and prompting a tornado warning in Dallas County by 6 AM. Heavy rain, booming thunder, and hail continued through the early morning.

Immediate Aftermath

As the sun rose and the rain slowed, North Texas residents stepped outside to assess the damage. Tree debris littered yards, uprooted trees blocked roads, and damaged homes and vehicles. Trees also fell onto power lines, creating hazardous conditions and leaving over 650,000 North Texans without power. Hurricane-strength winds blew down fences and tore shingles off roofs, leaving behind a massive clean-up operation.
