Cabling & Bracing. Over time, trees can develop structural defects or growth patterns that have a high chance of failing. In order to reduce risk for our clients without removing a valuable tree, our arborists can use cabling and bracing along with structural pruning or crown reduction pruning. Tree cabling and bracing rods offer added support that helps reduce the risk of stem or tree top failure during high winds. Cables are typically installed two thirds of the way up into a tree’s canopy from the branch union. Bracing is when a threaded rod is installed through branch unions of weak stems and canopy unions.
