Southern Botanical Inc., for the eighth year in a row, has been awarded prestigious Gold Awards from the 2015-2016 TNLA Texas Excellence in Landscaping Awards and once again, one of those Gold Award-winning properties was given the added honor of being named a Grand Platinum winner. This year’s awards included the Gold Award for Commercial Maintenance and a Gold Award/Grand Platinum Award for Residential Installation.
The winning properties included an incredible residential property that featured a fully sustainable landscape irrigated by a large underground cistern and the popular Dallas Arts District Klyde Warren Park. Each project was unique and meticulously executed.
Sponsored by the Texas Nursery and Landscape Association, the Texas Excellence in Landscaping Awards program is the state’s premier industry event and recognizes excellence in installation, design, design/build, maintenance and special projects. Award recipients are honored at the TNLA Awards Dinner during the August EXPO. Entries were judged on the basis of difficulty, craftsmanship and attention to detail, in addition to specific criteria listed in each category. Each of the entry categories was evaluated independently; the type, size, and cost of the project were not criteria for judging. The judging panel is composed of Texas judges with expertise in regional conditions and landscaping feats meriting distinction.
TNLA’s Anna McGarity commented, “We applaud you on your bold talent and forward-looking vision that sets the standard for landscaping excellence in Texas and ensures a bright future for this industry.”
