Southern Botanical serves at NALP’s Renewal & Remembrance in DC

July 19, 2018, Washington DC --

This July, Southern Botanical's Alan Richmond joined hundreds of other industry professionals at the National Association of Landscape Professionals Day on the Hill and for the largest service event in the industry – Renewal & Remembrance. The three-day event combines community service with advocacy as members head to Capitol Hill for Legislative Days on the Hill where they work together as a force to advocate for issues that affect all green-industry businesses. Members attend panel sessions to get the latest information on key issues and network with hundreds of lawn care and landscape companies at this important annual event.

Participants then honor America’s veterans by lending their professional skills to care for and beautify one of our nation’s most hallowed places – Arlington National Cemetery. Hundreds of NALP members and family members worked in partnership with the horticulture team at ANC to improve the lawns, shore up historic trees, landscape, and complete irrigation and hardscape projects on the grounds.

Day on the Hill is one of the most exciting and impactful events Southern Botanical participates in annually. Meeting legislators face-to-face to discuss issues critical to our team and the green industry is a tremendous opportunity. We maintain these relationships with our legislators and make sure our voices are heard in Washington. It's a very special honor to be able to put our talents to work each year at Arlington National Cemetery.

The National Association of Landscape Professionals is the national trade association representing nearly 100,000 landscape industry professionals in the United States, with additional members in Canada and overseas. Member companies specialize in lawn care, landscape design and installation, landscape maintenance, tree care, irrigation and water management, and interior plantscaping. Members also include students, consultants, industry suppliers, state associations and affiliate members.

Southern Botanical Revitalizes Horticultural Therapy Gardens at The Stewpot

Southern Botanical Revitalizes Horticultural Therapy Gardens at The Stewpot

May 11, 2018, Dallas, Texas --

The Southern Botanical Team recently gathered at community service organization The Stewpot to lend their expertise and their muscle to revitalizing the organization's Horticultural Therapy Gardens. The gardens are planted with flowers, herbs and vegetables and give clients of the agency opportunities to learn, relax and enjoy the process of gardening while also providing fresh produce. Volunteers pulled weeds, spread rock and mulch and other maintenance work.

For the last several years, The Stewpot has been the recipient of Southern Botanical's annual holiday donation on behalf of our clients as well as other volunteer service. Southern Botanical is proud to support this great organization and the wonderful service they perform in our community.

Since 2008, The Stewpot has been the sole meal provider at The Bridge Homeless Recovery Center, serving 1,000 to 2,000 meals per day, 7 days per week. The Stewpot offers a safe haven for homeless and at-risk individuals of Dallas, providing resources for basic survival needs, as well as opportunities to start a new life.

Southern Botanical donates tree care for Crystal Charity Ball benefit auction

November 18, 2016 - Dallas, Texas -

The SoBo Team recently donated services to the Crystal Charity Ball Auction to help raise funds for a variety of children’s charities in Dallas County. The Tree Care Team provided one full day of tree pruning and care on the property of the lucky bidder by a Southern Botanical crew and one of our certified, licensed Arborists. The market value of this tree care service is approximately $2,280.00, but we believe that keeping healthy legacy trees on your property is priceless. Even more priceless is helping care for the children in our communities who need our help. Great work Crystal Charity Ball!
